How much does money cost?

“Sometimes money costs a lot.” — Chinese fortune cookie

This one threw me for a loop the other day. I didn’t get it at first. I mean money is money which means a dollar is a dollar, right? Well, yes. If you are dealing with cash.

But what about if you are dealing with credit? With interest rates predicted to start climbing again and people re-mortgaging their homes based on the “market value”, we are slowly (or maybe it’s actually quickly) becoming a very indebted society.

Credit cards and bank loans have made our lives easier in one sense, but I also feel they have made our living invisibly more expensive. If you are diligent and pay off the balance every month, money does not cost much. But if you let it pile up on you because you have the “room” on the card, your money might be costing you a lot more than it is worth.

Take the test and change your mindset

“When we feel great about who we are, we radiate an undeniable magnetic energy that attracts to us all the things we desire.”
—Debbie Ford, The Best Year of Your Life

Are you a financial worrier? Do you wonder every month where the money is going to come from to pay the bills, rent, groceries? Even when things are going relatively well, do you then focus on your loans and mortgages, letting the weight of the debt sit on your shoulders? Maybe you start to imagine all the terrible things that might happen if for some reason you didn’t come up with the money you need.

Need more money? Take action and bring more in through other means. And the best action to take is to change your mindset.

What greater reward is there than improving someone’s life - your own or especially someone you care about? In these uncertain economic times, it is your duty and privilege to introduce your circle of friends and family to proven methods of success and empowerment—and the Millionaire Mind Intensive is the best way of doing just that.

As you know, at the Millionaire Mind Intensive, students learn how to create their own personal economy that thrives at all times and they learn how to change their financial lives forever. For those who want more out of life—more wealth, more happiness, more fun—the answer is simple. They must change their mindset, and change it quickly!

Redefining your life

With all the news these days about our “cautious economy”, “financially challenging” times, etc. I have been giving some thought to how to make it through the days and weeks without letting the negativity take over my focus.

So I was wanting to put it out there to you as well. What can we do to redefine our life right now and stay positive?

Here’s my first tip:

My definition of being weathly is having enough money to meet my family’s basic needs, having extra money for a few of our “wants”, and still be able to give some away to others.

What’s your tip? Share it with us here…

Are you ready for your self check-up?

We are finally back home, and after allowing myself a “comatose” day, I am back in the office and back to writing (even if I still feel comatose!). After my week away, and after listening to some very inspirational speakers at the Rules for Renegades Summit in Irvine, California, I realized it is time for my self check-up.

What’s that, you ask? This year is nearly half over. You may not want to think about it but this is the perfect time to take stock of how far you’ve come and to consider what lays ahead. Yup. I am serious.

If you have made any personal or professional commitments, have you been keeping track of where you are now? How much closer to your goal(s) have you come?

Remember, this is not a time to panic or get down if things are not looking the way you sketched it out in your plan yet. It is a time to realize that you need to take bigger steps, keep your promises to yourself, and respect and love yourself enough to do what you really, really want to do — now!

And if you haven’t made any personal commitments and goals yet, there is no better day than today!

Take action and begin to CREATE money

“Life experiences are the continuum in this seamless matrix of nothingness, in this continuum of both body and environment. They are our experiences of joy and sorrow, of success and failure, of wealth and poverty. All these events seemingly happen to us, but at very primordial levels we are making them happen.”
— Deepak Chopra, Creating Affluence, The A-to-Z Steps to a Richer Life

The problem with worrying about money is that it never pays a bill. And what is worse, worrying about money actually pushes prosperity away instead of attracting it — which just makes our situation all the more difficult to bear. Sarah Ban Breathnach reminds us in Simple Abundance, that when your subconscious mind continually receives a message, positive or negative, it will eventually manifest that message.

Thankfully, every thought one has does not instantly materialize. The results of our thoughts can take weeks, months, or even years to come about. But negative thoughts about money on a constant basis signals fear, lack, and deprivation — which will lead to fear, lack, and deprivation.

A more practical approach to dealing with money issues, according to Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer in Creating Money: Keys to Abundance, is to consider what actions you could take to CREATE money. There is a big difference in the energy behind CREATING compared to NEEDING.

Remember to keep your life simple in terms of money. Worry only blocks your creativity and thinking in order to keep creating an abundant flow of money.

The Art of Setting Goals

“Imagination is everything - it is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” — Albert Einstein

Goal-setting is one of the best ways to actively create your real life balance. Setting specific goals based on your desires (plan), seeing (visualize) and feeling them happening (put strong emotion behind them). Put yourself in that glorious future in your mind.

Be specific when you write out your goals. Start with 4 main goals which include each major sector of your life: money, mind, body, and soul. Write them in present tense, starting with “I am” and using an active verb. Give them a due date, then be sure to append “or sooner” at the end. For example: “I am eating healthy whole foods by December 31, 2008, or sooner.”

Review stage: Go through the goals at least twice a day. Visualize achieving your goals and experiencing the good feelings associated with your success.

After reviewing them in the morning, write down three things you can do today to help you achieve your #1 goal. Visualize them being achieved, and take action to make them happen. You’ll be surprised how motivated you’ll be to move to the next step. Then, as you reach a goal, move on to the next goal on your list.

What’s holding you back from achieving your dreams?

Why do some people find it easy to get ahead while others might be struggling just to get by, be comfortable or reach the next level? The answer lies in your “Money Blueprint” – your hardwired programming around money that is unconsciously causing your financial results.

If you want more out of life…more wealth, more happiness, more fun…the answer is simple; you NEED to change your Money Blueprint, and change it quick!

Otherwise there’s a good chance you’re destined to be disappointed with your financial results for the rest of your life!

Some of you already heard, that I am a fan of The Millionaire Mind Book and The Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar. For me and for all those who attended (and stayed through the whole experience), we learned that our money issues are not the only thing that we work through during that weekend. It covers so much more and goes so much deeper. I would be truly surprised hearing that someone who fully participated during the event did not come out changed in one way or another.
