Make the first move

“Feeling grateful to or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life.”
— Christiane Northrup, M.D.
We say we want love, yet we are afraid to give love for fear of getting hurt. We say we want friendship, but we forget to be kind to those around us. Personal relationships are as important to us as the air we breathe. We all need friends, lovers, companions, people with whom we can share our joys, sorrows, fears, and successes.
These relationships help us grow at our deepest levels and yet often we remain distant and detached from one another, unable or unwilling to reach out and make meaningful contact. We need to take the risk and explore the possibilities that exist in human interaction. Make the first move. Treat others the way you want to be treated and you will find that like will attract like.
Living thanks

“You see, when you’re grateful for what you currently have in your life, it focuses you on the best. And that puts you in a vibration (feeling) to attract and receive more of the best. When you have a lack of gratitude in your life, you’re focusing on the worst, and that puts you in a vibrational feeling that attracts to you more of the worst.”
— James Arthur Ray
Do you focus on what you are thankful for in your life? And then continue the habit to create a lifestyle of living thanks?
Why? Well, when you think about a person, other than you of course, who is constantly ungrateful. Perhaps they complain a lot and talk about their problems, their aches and pains. Do you want to be around them for long? How about helping them? Well, if life is anything like the corporate office, you would duck behind the desk dividers when you see that person coming — right?
On the other side of the coin, you have someone completely different. They are grateful and appreciative for all they have in life. When they ask for a favor, are you wanting to help them? Probably, because they are also the ones that are there for you when you need a helping hand.
So, start a new trend in your life, if you haven’t already, and focus on everything you are grateful for every day.
Listen to your feelings

“Our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge.”
— Audre Lorde
Our feelings are the base of our human experiences in life. Feelings tend to come first, and they then result in a corresponding reaction. With this new awareness, we can begin a new understanding of our life and we can see the cause and effect relationship between our feelings and what we subsequently create in our life.
It would be wise, therefore, to choose what we keep in our hearts with the same care that we choose what we say and do in our lives. If we want to have less conflict, fear, stress, and depression, then deep within our hearts those more desirable emotions must be truly present in order to manifest that reality.
The most important feeling we all need to experience more is love. In order to accomplish this, we can simply include more loving feelings in our life. However, remember that feeling more love does not always mean only to act it out on occassion, but rather to always have it in our hearts and minds.
We are all one

“Love is the greatest refreshment in life.” — Pablo Picasso
Valentine’s Day can bring a big mix of emotions. Some people love this day because they get to be lavished with tokens of affection or they get to lavish someone they care about with some special gesture. Then there are those who have lost their loved ones and feel sadness over missing them. What about those in relationships that have lost their “love” for one another? And still there are those who are not in relationships that may have indifference or even bitterness on this day made for “lovers”.
I’d like to give one more way to experience this day no matter what your relationship situation is like. Realize that we are all one and we are always connected. The Native Americans call this permanent connectedness “Mitakuye Oyasin”.
With this powerful thought, we can enjoy feeling loved and giving love no matter what label we have assigned to our relationships. We can also enjoy feeling love by bringing back our cell memories of love that we have experienced in the past (yes, our cells remember everything!). Take a deep breath and connect to a time where you were filled with love and feel it completely. This will shift your energy immediately and you will actually attract more of this “love” vibration into your life right now in the present moment.
Practice gratitude for all that is wonderful about your life and enjoy Valentine’s Day exactly as it is and you will feel good — guaranteed.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
— Melodie Beattie
Wow! The power of gratitude. Here’s a fun way to remember to be grateful everyday and to unleash this power for your life: Make a nice box, decorate it as you wish, or just buy one that you really like. Write little notes about all the things you are grateful for in your life and put them in this beautiful box. Now, everyday — you pick a time that works best for you — pull them out and think about each and every one of them with love and gratitude. Really feel each one.
Once you get the hang of doing it for the things in your life that you already have, throw in some things that you want to have in your life and feel the same feelings of gratitude. See what happens.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Let there be peace

“If you yourself are at peace, then there is at least some peace in the world.”
— Thomas Merton
Inner peace can be found through many different methods: through meditation, through gratitude, through love. When you make decisions in your life that bring about a sense of calmness it means that you are listening to your inner guides or your intuition which will not lead you astray.
This little bit of peace may seem so insignificant when there are so many people suffering in the world and so much conflict wherever we look. But if everyone were to focus on peace within themselves, it would lead to more peace in the world one person at a time.
Successful people are not people without problems

“Successful people are not without problems. They’re simply people who’ve learned to solve their problems.”
— Earl Nightingale
The universe rewards action. If you have a goal, but you don’t have a plan, it actually could more accurately be called a wish. And even more so, if you have problems and you reason that if you run away from them or turn your back on them, they will somehow just disappear, you may be running for a long time.
That doesn’t mean that you should stop dreaming. It is those thoughts that will help you create your reality. Realize though, that there will not be a magic pill that suddenly changes everything to good in your life. But there can be a magic mindset that allows you to see the situation from a different perspective.
Be a success. Face your problems. Work on them. Set goals and take actual action steps to bring you closer to solving them. Review your goals and see what areas still need work. Revise your goals if your ego has tricked you to make them unattainable, and therefore sabotaging your efforts right from the get-go.
Live in the now. Be grateful for all you have in your life and be responsible for everything that is happening in the present moment, for you are creating the stepping stones for your future “now”.
A life balancing act

“The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man.”
—Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC)
Gratitude is a great way to maintain balance in your life. Being grateful for the great powers around us that help us day to day is essential to continued abundance and well-being. Being thankful for all the small details that come together to complete the puzzle of our lives is also just as important.
However, one of the most neglected areas to keep in balance is our awareness of our own inner powers. How quick we are to acknowledge others and their abilities, and how quick we usually are to bring ourselves down. We choose to look at the mistakes we have made in our lives, and dismiss all the wonderful things about us that make us powerful, unique individuals.

“Will you join us to say “I love you” and “Thank you” to all the water on Planet Earth and fill it with the highest vibration (HADO) of Love and Thanks that we can possibly experience?”
— Dr. Masaru Emoto
More and more research is proving that thoughts are powerful things that can affect your body dramatically. The Institute of Heart Math describes this process in their paper titled “Local and Non-local Effects of Coherent Heart Frequencies on Conformational Changes of DNA”. Wow, now that’s a catchy title!
Here is a brief summary of the research: In this experiment, some human placenta DNA (the most pristine form of DNA) was placed in a container from which they could measure changes in the DNA. Twenty-eight vials of DNA were given to 28 trained researchers, one vial each. Each researcher had been trained on how to generate and FEEL feelings, and they each were instructed to have strong emotions.
What they discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers. Read more
