Detox for the body, mind, and soul

“Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.”
—Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)

I recently embarked on a detox to help me purge my body of all the toxins that have built up over the months, as well as allowing all the healthier nutrients to enter my body with ease. Simply put, it involves consciously selecting only the foods that encourage the detox process and flushing it all down with lots of water. The end result is supposed to be a more energized, lighter feeling, healthier me.

Now, this got me thinking about our minds. How many toxic thoughts and feelings have we been storing in our minds over the years? Maybe it’s time to do some thought purging as well. Wouldn’t that lead to a more energized, lighter feeling, healthier me too? I’m sure it would clear up a lot of space for more positive thoughts. So that means I have to consciously select only the thoughts that build love, abundance, and well-being.

All I have to do then is maintain my new, clean, healthy body and mind with daily meditation to keep it all in balance.

Are you having fun yet?

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”
— Dale Carnegie

This may come as a surprise to you and you may even want to resist truly hearing this message, but I will share it with you in hopes that it will stick with you if you hear it often enough — life is supposed to be fun!

I myself tend to forget this simple message when I allow myself to get caught up in the messes and stresses of day-to-day life. But I have been hearing this repeatedly the last few weeks and it has finally started to sink in.
If you are doing something with your life that does not bring you joy, why are you still doing it? Or what can you do differently, think differently to make it fun? Life is not supposed to be about suffering and pain. Think of your life as a big sandbox. What do you want to build today? What do you want to play with in the sand?

Stop taking life so seriously that you miss out on all the fun there is to do. Enjoy playing with your family and friends. Live with love and have fun! And the way to do that is to figure out what you love to do!

Now is the time to get absolutely clear about what really matters to you in your life and go for that. What will your life look like when you pull out all the stops, really push the pedal to the floor, and go for your passions with no holds barred?

Ultimately, you’re the only one who can answer that question. And one great way to help you figure it out is to take “The Passion Test”. The Passion Test is first and foremost a decision-making tool. Take The Passion Test as often as you want, and at least every six months. Then, “Whenever you are faced with a choice, a decision or an opportunity, choose in favor of your
passions.” (Janet Attwood).

Taking Risks

“There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.”
— John F. Kennedy (1917-1963)

I have been thinking a lot about risks these past few days. What is a risk? Well the dictionary defines it as: 1. The possibility of suffering harm or loss; danger. 2. A factor, thing, element, or course involving uncertain danger; a hazard. So with this in mind the question is, is it better to take risks or not take risks in life?

The more I think about it the more I come up with the same answer — life is about taking risks for things that you value and are passionate about and learning from the experience no matter what the outcome. Read the rest of this entry »

All your DNS needs is love

“Will you join us to say “I love you” and “Thank you” to all the water on Planet Earth and fill it with the highest vibration (HADO) of Love and Thanks that we can possibly experience?”
— Dr. Masaru Emoto

More and more research is proving that thoughts are powerful things that can affect your body dramatically. The Institute of Heart Math describes this process in their paper titled “Local and Non-local Effects of Coherent Heart Frequencies on Conformational Changes of DNA”. Wow, now that’s a catchy title!

Here is a brief summary of the research: In this experiment, some human placenta DNA (the most pristine form of DNA) was placed in a container from which they could measure changes in the DNA. Twenty-eight vials of DNA were given to 28 trained researchers, one vial each. Each researcher had been trained on how to generate and FEEL feelings, and they each were instructed to have strong emotions.

What they discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers. Read the rest of this entry »

Change v.s. comfort

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
— Albert Einstein

We are, for the most part, creatures of habit. We get through our days following the same routines, the same patterns every day and every night. And there is a good reason for doing so — staying in a comfort zone. There is comfort in knowing what is going to happen in your life everyday, as long as you keep doing the same things over and over.

And when you are living the life you want to live — you are happy, fulfilled, and living in love — these habits can actually be a good thing. But if you are looking for positive, permanent change in your life, doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results will just lead to insanity. You cannot have change if you keep doing the same things.

Change the thoughts, change the actions, and then you can expect different results.

“A good plan violently executed today is far and away better than a perfect plan tomorrow.”
— Tecumseh Sherman

How many of us have goals we want to accomplish this year? How many of us have “To Do” lists plastered on our fridges? Now the bigger question. How long have these things been waiting to get done? Do not wait until all the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes it all perfect.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by Harv EkerHarv Eker has a great quote for this: “Ready, Fire, Aim”. Make a plan, do it, and make the necessary adjustments and corrections en route. Things will most likely come up that you didn’t plan for anyway, so go for it and come up with the answers when you need them.

Completing your goals, projects, tasks, chores will bring you more than a sense of satisfaction. It will actually bring you peace and it will bring you energy. It doesn’t matter what the size of the task is. When you keep putting it off, it tends to rob you of your energy, both mentally and emotionally.

Start with the smaller items on your list that you have been neglecting. Just starting will give you power and set the rest in motion.

Drama is a choice — so is peace.

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

For every situation that comes into your life you have a choice. You may not have as much direct control over whether the situation arrives at your door, but you have absolute control over how you open the door and greet it — how you choose to react to the situation.

Drama is a subjective reality; for one the death of a loved one can be a painful experience. To another, it is but a reminder that life is short and it is a time to live more fully with love and peace. Others might even see it as a time to rejoice in seeing their soul move on to a higher level of consciousness. One situation — many choice reactions.

And as much as accepting drama in your life is a choice, so too is allowing peace to reign in your daily decisions and reactions.

  • For those reading Ekart Tolle’s book “A New Earth” you may want to refer to chapter Seven for some interesting stories about the choices you can make regarding human drama.
  • Take action and begin to CREATE money

“Life experiences are the continuum in this seamless matrix of nothingness, in this continuum of both body and environment. They are our experiences of joy and sorrow, of success and failure, of wealth and poverty. All these events seemingly happen to us, but at very primordial levels we are making them happen.”
    — Deepak Chopra, Creating Affluence, The A-to-Z Steps to a Richer Life

The problem with worrying about money is that it never pays a bill. And what is worse, worrying about money actually pushes prosperity away instead of attracting it — which just makes our situation all the more difficult to bear. Sarah Ban Breathnach reminds us in Simple Abundance, that when your subconscious mind continually receives a message, positive or negative, it will eventually manifest that message.

Thankfully, every thought one has does not instantly materialize. The results of our thoughts can take weeks, months, or even years to come about. But negative thoughts about money on a constant basis signals fear, lack, and deprivation — which will lead to fear, lack, and deprivation.

A more practical approach to dealing with money issues, according to Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer in Creating Money: Keys to Abundance, is to consider what actions you could take to CREATE money. There is a big difference in the energy behind CREATING compared to NEEDING.

Remember to keep your life simple in terms of money. Worry only blocks your creativity and thinking in order to keep creating an abundant flow of money.
