It just keeps changing…

“In times of change, the learners will inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”
— Eric Hoffer
With the new President Obama in place now, his campaign of “CHANGE” is still very much top of mind for all those that heard his message during this time of transition. So let’s take a closer look at change…
This Super Law tells us that energy is always moving, transmuting and changing. It takes one form, then another, but it never stands still. Everything we see, hear, taste, touch or smell is in a constant state of change. In fact, this Super Law tells us that change is all there is.
People sometimes say, “Let’s wait until the dust settles after all this change before we do anything” or, “I just want this change to hurry up and be over so I can get back to normal!” They don’t understand that change itself is what’s normal!
Every cell in your body is replaced in less than a year. You aren’t even the same physical person you were a year ago. You can go back to your old house or your old town, but it won’t be the same, you won’t be the same and your relationship with it won’t be the same as it was. In fact, the whole world as we know it is gone the moment we know it!
What must you do to learn to embrace and leverage change? What are you hanging on to in your life and/or your business that no longer serves you?
See what is great

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!”
— Anne Frank
Whether it is a person, a house, a job, a country, you name it, I recommend that you see what is great. It is so easy to slip into the mode of seeing only the things that need improvement, or that are no good about each one.
There is usually one thing we could do to improve and work on. People are not perfect, houses need repairs, jobs have their up and down moments, countries go through trying times. However, I feel that it is so much better for us to focus on what is good already.
Doesn’t it make you feel better when you think about all the things that are already working out? And when you focus on all the good things, it increases that “happy” vibration and attracts more “happy” things to focus on. Yes, be aware of the other side too, but rejoice in what is already great.
Happy Days

“Perhaps you think you’ll be happy when you get a bigger kitchen, or a new job, or the perfect someone with whom to share your life. But don’t you want to start making happiness a habit right now? Every morning when we wake up we’ve been given a wonderful gift —another day of life—so let’s make the most of it. No one can do it for us.” — Sarah Ban Breathnach, Simple Abundance
Well, I have certainly been there-done that by thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Have you ever heard yourself say, “If only…then it would be better, then it would be good.”? Thankfully, I woke up from thinking that things outside my control would bring me true happiness. I’m not saying that getting all the material things we need or crave wouldn’t make us feel good…for a while. But true happiness can only come from within, from our authentic selves.
So what is the trick to having this genuine happiness? You must choose to be happy everyday. You must make happiness a habit. Happiness is a state of mind and therefore you have the freedom to choose it. This might seem so simple — and it is. The greatest things in life are simple and should be achieved easily.
Here is an affirmation that you can say every morning on your way to happy days (based on an affirmation from The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, by Dr. Joseph Murphy):
“This is a new and wonderful day for me. There will never be another day like this one. I am divinely guided all day long, and whatever I do will prosper. I am a spiritual and mental magnet attracting to myself all things that bless and prosper me. I am going to be a wonderful success in all my undertakings today. I am definitely going to be happy all day long.”
Make your daily connections

“What we’re all striving for is authenticity, a spirit-to-spirit connection.”
—Oprah Winfrey (1954 - ), O Magazine
With the hectic pace of life these days we must make a conscious effort to connect. Are we just going through the paces — job, commute, shopping, laundry, dinner, paying bills, sleep — but forgetting to pause and truly connect with every aspect of our life? Did we look into the eyes of the grocery store cashier when we said “Have a good evening” or was it just on automatic polite-pilot? Are we appreciating all the wonderful things in our house or are we just cleaning them because it is on our “to-do” list?
Strive to make every connection throughout your day a spirit-to-spirit connection and you will begin to notice yourself being grateful for all the beautiful things in your life, all the wonderful people in your life. You may also notice that you have all that you need in your life to make it a joyful experience each and every day.
The Negative and the positive forces in your life

“If you can come to see that nothing — even your pain, sorrow, grief, or anger — was wasted, and that there was a purpose to everything, even your suffering, there can be much healing.”
— Dr. Brenda Davies, Journey of the Soul
It is hard to believe that even our pain and suffering could be considered a good thing, but consider the concept of “Yin and Yang”:
“There are two opposing forces active in the universe. Yin exists in Yang and Yang exists in Yin. This is the changing combination of negative and positive, dark and light, cold and hot which keeps the world spinning and creates Chi - the giving life force.” (Paralumun.com)
Therefore, in order to live a whole and complete life, we must have both experiences. Pain due to fear, or loss, or frustration, or anger, gives us a clear indication of where there is work to be done in our life. Something needs to be resolved so that we can move on to our own paradise that we choose to create. This is done not only through positive thoughts, but through positive action.
Ask and Believe

“Ask. Ask. Ask. Ask for a respite from all your crises. Surrender suffering, sorrow, pain. Surrender expectations. Ask to be surprised by joy. Give thanks. Wait. Watch what happens. Get excited. Open your arms as wide as you can to receive all the miracles with your name on them. Never forget that all you have is all you need.”
— Sarah Ban Breathnach, Simple Abundance
Remember that you are never alone. Ask for help and guidance and you will find it. Ask for the courage to go on and you will have it. Believe in yourself. Everything is possible for those that believe. Look and you will discover that you are the person that you always have been and you are all that you need to be — exactly as you are right now. You just need to see it shine through more frequently. You have all that you need to succeed. Find the right questions to ask and you will have your answers within.
It’s a New Year… Time to set your priorities!

“What’s really important in life? Sitting on a beach? Looking at television eight hours a day? I think we have to appreciate that we’re alive for only a limited period of time, and we’ll spend most of our lives working. That being the case, I believe one of the most important priorities is to do whatever we do as well as we can. We should take pride in that.”
—Victor Kiam
What a wonderful day! A new year. A fresh start. Now, what are we going to do with this gift? Let’s give our days meaningful purpose by establishing or reordering our priorities. Figure out what are the deeply personal things that are important to you and your life. Realize that priorities are not written in stone, so you will need to be flexible and change them as needed.
As our lives grow more hurried and busy, we need to allow ourselves a little more time everyday to organize our thoughts and make our plans. Do not dwell on goals that were not accomplished in the past. Focus only on the here and now and your most important priorities that will make your life more fulfilled and complete from this day on.
