“We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.” — Marian Wright-Edelman
Call it baby-steps, Kaizen theory, day by day. You name it. What it adds up to is change. It may not seem it at first… and it shouldn’t if you are taking it slowly and steadily. But it does make a more lasting impression on your lifestyle and mind. And it actively creates permanent, positive change in your life.

It is amazing how often we lose sight of the fact that the small steps we take are actually helping us to realize our overall goals. I get so frustrated at times when I don’t see immediate results or think that nothing lies over the horizon and I am just spinning my wheels. Articles and daily inspirations like this help to keep me on track and remain positive as I continue to march on.
That’s pretty profound. I’m sitting here now feeling just a little stunned at how counter-productive I’ve been in ignoring the little steps in favour of the railing over the slowness in making the big changes. One thing I’ve found that helps is to have a system for dealing with change, and even though I haven’t been following along as well as I should, the LARK method that Shelley Anderson describes in Dealing with Divas is a good system for making sure that you’re focusing on the right things. I’ll definitely be doing better after this. Thanks for providing me with a much needed Aha! moment.
